Make calls in Spanish using HOVRS 24 hours a day!
Did you know that Hands On VRS (www.hovrs.com), a leading provider of video relay services (VRS), provides a Spanish Video Relay Service, HOVRS en Español?
HOVRS en Español connects American Sign Language (ASL) speakers with Spanish-speaking friends, family, and co-workers through HOVRS.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing people may access HOVRS en Español 24 hours a day from their web browser, through VideoSign 2.5 software on a PC, through iChat software on a Mac, or from a videophone. Users simply select the HOVRS en Español option, and are automatically connected to a bilingual interpreter who is fluent in both American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken Spanish.
Instructions for Videophone Users:
To make a VRS call in Spanish, simply add "espanol.hovrs.tv" to your Videophone Contact List or Speed Dial List. Then dial "espanol.hovrs.tv" and provide the video interpreter with a phone number that you wish to call.
Instructions for Personal Computer Users:
To place a call from your web browser, go to www.hovrs.com, input the phone number that you wish to call, and click on the box labeled HOVRS en Español before placing the call.
From HOVRS VideoSign 2.5, click the program icon on your desktop, click the "VRS" button, and input the number you wish to make a call. Be sure to click on the box labeled HOVRS en Español before placing the call.
Instructions for Mac Computer Users:
hovrsWidget users may place a call by clicking the "i" on the Widget to modify settings. Click on the box labeled "HOVRS en Español" before placing the call.
hovrsIM users may send a message to hovrsIM with the command "hola" or "sp" to request HOVRS en Español.
Customers that speak Spanish may contact Deaf or Hard of Hearing users directly through HOVRS en Español through the toll-free number (877) 467-4875 and then giving the operator the Deaf or Hard of Hearing user's phone number or extension number. If the user is unavailable, the caller has the option of leaving a video message.
HOVRS is dedicated to removing barriers everywhere for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, and the company is proud to continue this endeavor with HOVRS en Español.
