DeafNation Expo in Columbus, Ohio

Hands On Video Relay Service, Inc. (HOVRS), a sponsor of the DeafNation Expo on April 28, 2007 in Columbus, Ohio, is thrilled to present the premiere of the fourth episode of the miniseries A Permanent Grave by Mosdeux.

The DeafNation Expo is at the Franklin County Veterans Memorial North Exhibition Hall located at 300 West Broad Street, Columbus, OH. More information about the location can be found at www.deafnation.com. Expo hours are from 9am to 6pm on April 28th, 2007.

HOVRS Becomes Exclusive Sponsor of deafmac.org

Hands On Video Relay Services, Inc. (www.hovrs.com) continues its commitment to Mac users by becoming the exclusive sponsor of deafmac.org, a new community website. Users of the one-of-a-kind, fun website will access news, announcements, information about features, hardware, software, and upcoming products. They will receive killer tips about accessibility for deaf users of Mac computers, such as enabling screen flashes that accompany alert sounds on the computer.

Accessibility issues will be a central theme for the website. The website will discuss accessibility for Apple products such as the iPhone and promote methods that will make the Mac experience possible for deaf users. The community principle will be the driving force behind the content of the website, and the growing and loyal user community can trade stories and tips.

The founder of the site, Ramy Bustamante III, explains, “We have been trying to create a community group like this for years, and we are grateful to HOVRS for their generous support and for making this a reality.” A Mac devotee for many years, Bustamante plans to run the website from his home base in Riverside, California.

HOVRS is the only Video Relay Service to provide a Mac solution to users of Video Relay. One-touch dialing is available to users of iChat or Dashboard who have iSight-equipped Mac computers. The sponsorship comes just as HOVRS reaches out to the nation in a 30-city tour with workshops that educate current and future Mac owners. The company’s innovative Technology Partnership Program brings educational workshops to students, faculty, and staff of schools and educational institutions. And HOVRS plans to develop technologies in line with the products that Apple rolls out.
